INTRODUCING THE NEW YEAR REPRESENTATIVES...

First Year Representatives: Riaz Pirmohamed and Rhodri Lewis

Second Year Representatives: Sanjay Dave and Danielle Richardson

Third Year Representatives: Nazia Khanzada and Malvika Monga

Here's what they have to say...

+ First Year Representatives

As first year reps essentially our job is to make sure life for the first years runs as smoothly as possible, and as such we are your mouthpiece through which you can canvass your opinions, comments or ideas to the LSE SU Law Society. I also help to organise and promote events happening within the society, ensuring the first years are kept well informed of all events and activities, ranging from careers opportunities to parties! So if you have any questions, ideas or problems please feel free to contact me.

+ Second Year Representatives

Hi, we are your Second Year Reps. Basically our job is to give the students what they want. We are here to find out your views and represent them to the LSE staff so they can be acted upon. We hope to improve your LSE law experience by doing this effectively. We also help in publicising Law Society events, so the chances are if you are aware of anything related to the Law Society it is because of us.

+ Third Year Representatives

We are representing third year students and we are here to reflect your views to both the society and the law department.

Pro-bono Legal Apprentice - Result!

The three teams that participated in the Pro-bono Legal Apprentice Challenge raised £481.57 in total! Morrison & Forester, our sponsors for the event, donated £500. The Law Society will therefore be giving £931.57 to the Bar Pro-bono Unit!

Congratulations to all the teams who put in a lot of hard work, even when the weather was miserable!

The winning team was Priscilla Abishegam’s team with their curry stall, raking in profits of £383.39! They will be enjoying their prize of indoor skydiving very soon!

The Obiter Relaunch: theobiter.com

Do check out our newest revision of The Obiter.Online, which used to be run as a Wordpress blog but is now on a website designed by The Obiter team.

We are proud to launch the first ever online companion to our law journal - The Obiter.Online. The website aims to be a one-stop station where students, members of the alumni, professors as well as lawyers can both express and enlighten themselves through articles covering a diverse range of legal issues.

The Obiter Team is also proud to present some new additions to the magazine - namely the 'Careers', 'Commercial Awareness' and 'Student Issues' sections. These sections hope to keep students updated on career opportunities available for them (and we don't limit this to working in a law firm!) and provide summaries of the latest commercial issues and events organised by the Law Society. Do visit them to find out more at http://www.theobiter.com/, and feel free to give us your feedback using the Email Forum available!

THOSE INTERESTED IN WRITING FOR THE MAGAZINE - Please email your ideas to Natasha at n.m.sabnani@lse.ac.uk. Articles should be kept within 1500 words long and submitted by the third week of December to be published in the next issue.
